Abstract
This document describes test methods, test target design, test conditions and reporting format for evaluation of image permanence of reflection photographic prints for various indoor applications, which are foundations to establish the image permanence specification of ISO 18940. It covers light stability, ozone stability, thermal stability and humidity stability of photographic prints. This document is applicable to any digital prints, which include photographic prints created by silver halide, inkjet, electrophotography, thermal diffusion, and others. In more detail, for the purpose of specification of image permanence, this document defines the specific test method, test condition and data analysis procedure from those listed in ISO 18936, ISO 18937, ISO 18941, and ISO 18946. Furthermore, this document specifies the content and procedure for graphical reporting of test results as basic technical communication of image permanence performance of photographic prints.
